Passion for Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC)
Students are our future.
How are you involved in this event...
I took the lead at the Hidden Valley Motorsport Complex, looking after smooth operations and the well-being of teams and supporters involved, which is more than 1,000 people. At 5 in the morning, I start the day by checking the teams that stayed at the circuit overnight, and then clean up the circuit in a sweeper. Setting up and packing up the 9 control stops along the 3,000km route is also my role as well. From Adelaide to Darwin before the event, and the opposite direction after the start, I drive an enormous truck and load & unload tents and signs. Since we are a small team, each member must take on a variety of tasks!
What is the allure of the BWSC...
The kids are all so smart and so nice. It's extraordinary to think that each of them have spent 18 months to 2 years of their lives preparing for this event. I’m just so proud of all of them. These kids are our future. The technology we see is tomorrow’s but we’re looking at it today.
